Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment results in an increase in the linearity of any stat.
Players can recycle six items at once to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the power of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved by a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their stats.
There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available in all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Upgrade components are the primary way to upgrade equipment. These are items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading and some require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others give general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and offer various bonuses, from increasing the speed of the item's collection to providing additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the upgrade level and rarity, but can be reduced through a variety of ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or rune, and many are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. The only exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, which makes them more effective at conveying messages across language barriers. Glyphs can also increase the retention of a message by evoking an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph increases the value of a stat by a certain range. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and the quality of the product you are admiring.
Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
item upgrader can remove a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to give it an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is helpful for players who take a lot of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained through a variety of methods, including in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an unspecified affix, which is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button", you can recycle these recycled items. This will change the design of the item's window and let up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is by the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll a percentage chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but players should be aware that it could reduce the total ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls used in order to increase it to the final level. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, because they are the only options to raise the ilvl.
Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it using money or food items that would allow them to make changes to their builds without having to invest too much time. The developers do not plan to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an ability to change races in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to level up an item upgrade. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of upgrading the stat. The second is to increase the upgrade effect which increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. Finally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading your items, it is important to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will result from glyphs, however there are also possibilities for greater or special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a special item type, then it is likely to receiving an additional level.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The price will be based on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it has. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky your upgraded item will be at the highest level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.
Depending on the item's base level and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For example, a weapon that is upgraded from a unique or rare to an exceptional item will have a chance to gain the enhanced defense of the new base type of item.
